TMMIN is optimistic that car exports will increase in 2022
Regarding car production and market in Indonesia, Director of External Affairs of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) Bob Azam said that exports of complete Toyota brand vehicles from Indonesia in 2021 will reach 188 thousand units. This means that conditions have now recovered to 90 percent compared to the situation before the pandemic.
This achievement cannot be separated from the support of the Indonesian government through various stimuli and policies provided to encourage national automotive exports. With conditions continuing to improve, TMMIN is optimistic that vehicle exports will accelerate this year. "We are confident that the Toyota brand CBU export target for 2022 will increase above the level achieved in 2019," he said as quoted by Liputan6 Friday, January 28 2022.
Toyota supports efforts to increase the export performance of domestic automotive products and is always exploring opportunities for larger export destinations. Is the opportunity in question export to Australia? "Regarding exports to Australia, please contact the Minister of Industry for more detailed information," said Bob.
Previously, Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that there would be car exports to Australia in the first quarter of 2022. However, Minister of Industry Agus did not specify the brands of cars that would be exported. "We are trying in the first quarter. I can't name (the brand) yet," he said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25 2022.
